Women love their bras. Especially since they serve to give the illusion of a fuller bust, enhancing our self image. Bras also lifts our breasts and prevent them from premature sagging. With all these undeniable benefits, what are all the bra naysayers going on about?
Bras can do more harm than good if you choose a size that is off for your body and bust size. Research have shown that 90 percent of adult women have been adorning ill fitting bra sizes. Many women select their bras at a young age and have neglected to update their measurements as they age. These women have been wearing the same size, unaware that bras can do massive damage to their breasts and overall health.
A misfitting bra can lead to discomfort, back problems, deformed breasts and unsightly marks. A badly chosen bra can also become a health hazard. Tight bras worn too often can result in breast cancer by causing toxin accumulation. However, a good non-constricting bra worn in moderation can provide you the support you need while keeping your breasts looking youthful.
Here are some tips for getting the correct bra measurement.
- Begin by taking a measuring tape and measuring underneath your breasts. After which you will add to the measurement another five inches if it is a odd number or four inches if it is an even number. This will then be your final bra size. For example, if you measure 33 inches beneath your breasts, you will have to add 5 inches to it, making it a total of 38 inches. The right bra size for you will be 38 inches.
- Bra size is measured separately from the bust size. To measure your bust size, simply pull the measuring tape along your nipples gently and note down the digits. The disparity between your bra and bust size will tell you what cup size you should be wearing. The bigger the distinction, the lower down the alphabet scale you should go.
Wearing a bra that is too small will minimize blood flow and may even shrink your bust size. Although bras that maximize the look of your breasts look appealing and does wonders for the self esteem, they should not be relied upon often. This is because maximizer-type bras tend to confine your breasts. Try to avoid wearing stuffy padding over your breasts for long periods of time as these sort of bras will smother your breasts and modify your natural breast shape.
Even if maximizers are your kind of thing, do remember to give your twin peaks a breather once in a while. Why not try going sans bra at home? Airing your boobs will give them a chance to recuperate from the restrictions of a bra and allow the body’s lymphatic fluid to flow freely.
Go for breathable bras whenever possible. Cotton is a good choice as it a versatile and breathable fabric. A good tip to achieving healthy breasts is to give them a daily massage with organic oils. This will promote blood circulation and rejuvenate tired and constricted breasts. Sleeping bra-less and going bra-free in the privacy of your own home is a great way to increase your bust health. Do remember to to update your bra size once every year or two!
